The Sour Taste As Inflammatory and Degenerative

The sour taste provokes painful IC flares   The problem is that acidity is hidden away in matter science dietary recommendations   It’s also widely known that cultural diets that favor a more alkaline nature tend to promote within cultures greater longevity (eg Asian diets)

Animal based protein diets  which are high in acidity(fatty acids) demonstrate decreased longevity   From an energy science perspective this is not about vegetarianism; it’s about what increasing amounts of acid loading does to person   Not only does increased dietary sour decrease longevity, but it can provoke painful IC flares

Energetically the sour taste is the acid taste in Nature so from an energy science nutritional view meats rich in fatty acids are not the only culprits

Any acid in food carries energetically the sour taste  Even though we consider sour fruits acidic due to the citric acid(eg grapefruit), we don’t think of tomato(primarily in the seeds), banana, nuts, mayonnaise, red meat(dark chicken, dark turkey, beef, duck, lamb, and pork) and egg yolk as sour   Even though they don’t taste sour, energetically they physiologically produce the effects of sour   For more guidance you can go to icdiet.com or foodsheal.com for a more complete list

From an energy science view all six tastes should be present at a meal for it to be balancing so a wee bit of sour is not a problem as experienced say in a churan

For Pitta Vata(PV) some the sour taste is important in moderation – not all the time but 1-2x per week

For a Pitta Kapha(PK) energy makeup the sour taste should be kept to a minimum

What happens when the physiology sees too much of the sour taste?  Energetically we find inflammation such as seen in IC, chronic prostatitis, vulvodynia, IBS, GERD, and fibromyalgia in the body and psychologically there is judgement, criticality, jealousy, and hate

As we can see the sour taste can lead to degenerative changes even in PV due to the inflammatory nature of the taste if it becomes excessive for that particular physiological pattern

A simple rule:  Eat according to your specific mindbody energy pattern

IC Treatment by Supporting the Microbiome

In the world of Ayurveda the IC bladder pain syndrome(interstitial cystitis, irritable bowel syndrome, chronic prostatitis, fibromyalgia) arises from a disturbance in the ability to digest food. This impaired digestion leads to toxic buildup that then leads to toxins collecting in areas outside the bowel. One of the areas where this buildup occurs in the pelvic nerves surrounding the large bowel. This leads to all the bladder symptoms that occur in IC such as urinary frequency, urgency, and episodic burning on urination but also the...

Oh Good The Antibiotics Fixed Me? An Energy Science Explanation

“Mildred, I’ve got some good news and bad news,” says Dr Jones   “The good news is that you don’t have a urinary tract infection by your culture   But the bad news is that I don’t know why you have these symptoms of frequency and burning”

But then Mildred proceeds to tell Dr Jones that the antibiotic that he prescribed before the culture results were back actually made her feel better

Now both are scratching their heads   But in the end Mildred doesn’t care because her symptoms are better

And Dr Jones is happy his patient got better and that’s all that really matters  “A scientific fluke,” Dr Jones muses

Or Is It a Fluke?

People with IC(interstitial cystitis) can relate to this scenario if you’ve had a UTI   And if you haven’t then you may have had this mystifying clinical illness that got better with antibiotics even though no infection was  present

Typically whenever we can’t explain something in medicine it becomes the unexplainable   But as long as the outcome is acceptable we move on

Is there an explanation to these scenarios that are not explained by the matter science medical discipline?  Yes, there are simple explanations but we have to employ the energy science medical discipline to understand

Taste and Inflammation

There are many inflammatory conditions that are manifested in the physiology that are not associated with bacterial infection  The common cold, most forms of acid indigestion, many joint diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, prostatitis, interstitial cystitis to name a few

The acid taste in Nature is inflammatory due to the hot quality and the opposite of acid is alkaline

The alkaline taste is the bitter taste so if the acid taste is inflammatory then the alkaline taste is antiinflammatory

Antibiotics Carry the Bitter Taste

Oh my gosh!  If I take an antibiotic and I have a nonbacterial inflammatory process such as Mildred’s bladder symptoms then this inflammatory condition can be improved with antibiotics

Even though there is no infection!

So antibiotics can be prescribed for infections that don’t exist and work because of the bitter taste that they carry as signals to the mindbody, “Cool down  Here’s some bitter for you”

The Energy Science Demystifies

The natural extension of this is that if we take foods that decrease the acid or sour taste in Nature and load on the alkaline taste like aloe vera gel then we don’t need the antibiotic

Of course we need the culture information but the use of anbiotics may not be warranted all the time in IC since it’s not an infectious process  It’s an inflammatory noninfectious disease

How the energy science discipline deals with this is based on its model of healing, surely different than the current matter science approach  And the good news is that since it can uncover the origin of disease it can heal it    Something the matter science will not be able to do

How To Improve Digestion and IC: 10 Important Energy Science Secrets

The pain of IC occurs because of an imbalance somewhere in inner space   From our previous blogs it’s apparent that from an energy science point of view dis-ease or imbalance in the mindbody occurs due to imbalance of qualities beginning in the GIT(gastrointestinal tract)   This  is particularly important for those who have associated conditions such as GERD, IBS, fibromyalgia, and chronic prostatitis

So the key is correct the imbalance in order to get your life back before IC changed it and turned into a shambles

The Precious Gift

One of the keys to help reduce inconvenient and untimely flares is to develop a healthy GIT which will go a long way toward improving your recovery from IC   But what does it mean to have  a healthy digestive system?

Again from an energy science view it means that we have a strong digestive fire which is defined molecularly as all the digestive enzyme systems from the mouth to the anus including all the organisms that help with digestion, the so called probiotic population

In fact it is said that all we need for great health is a good digestive fire!  It is indeed a fortunate person born with a strong digestive fire and is able to maintain it through her/his lifetime   It is a precious gift that Momma Nature gives us   With such a strong digestion like we had when we children, teenagers, and young adults we could eat anything and we thought it wouldn’t effect us   In part that is true but over time it catches up with us and the fire begins to deteriorate

It’s unfortunate that the matter science view of the human physiology does not have such a concept but that’s the way it goes

10 Things to Improve Digestive Fire

We have written many times about the importance of appropriate nutritional formats for individual mindbody makeups as well as incompatible food combinations   Observance of these is foundational to help improve or maintain the power of your digestive fire

But other things that we can do to enhance digestive strength:

1 Tongue scraping in the morning stimulates digestive enzyme system

2  Use of herbs such as fresh ginger, fresh basil, tumeric, cardamom, fennel, cumin, coriander in your cooking

5 interrogatives of eating:   When to eat the biggest meal of the day

4 Try not eating meals late at night  Best is to use fruit for snacks or late night eating

5 Don’t eat when emotionally upset

6 Only eat when you’re hungry

7 Ice is not nice   Don’t use ice anytime because it cools off the digestion

Exercise regularly

9 No snacks  If need to snack use fresh seasonal fruit

10 Drink milk separately from meals

So there you have it   How to begin improving your digestive fire   Overwhelming?  Just try one a week and before you know it you’ll begin feeling better and bowel activity will begin to normalize(regular bowel movements daily for those who are constipated)

Until next week                                                      Your humble servant in healing   Love Dr Bill

What Do IBS and IC Have in Common?

IC pain and the pain of IBS(irritable bowel syndrome) are interrelated on an energy level because gut problems begin the imbalance that leads to IC symptoms   What happens in the gut in IC eventually leads to problems in the urinary tract

To be aware of this is to begin the healing of painful IC flares  Why?  Because when you begin to understand the origins of your dis-ease then you can be  empowered to take on the challenges to live the life you once had

And we have seen that there are often psychological similarities between those with IC and those with IBS

The Biological Energy Prototypes and IC/IBS

From an energy science medical view Nature is described in terms of the VPK(Vata Pitta Kapha) frame of reference   Everything in Nature can be seen as these energy patterns and they’re composed of primary vibrational frequencies or qualities that contribute to their expression in the mindbody

As we have talked about in the past from an energy science view they represent who we are in the world and we’re varying proportions of these energy patterns of  Vata, Pitta, and Kapha   They are mindbody energy expressions or combined mental and physical characteristics   And the pain of IC and IBS come as expressions of imbalances of the energy patterns of Vata and Pitta

When there is imbalance of the qualities of hot and mobile the Vata and Pitta energy patterns are provoked and may be expressed as IC and IBS first at the gut level then at the bladder   This is the relationship between these two apparent dissimilar dis-eases

When you are in balance there is no excess of these qualities

When we are out of balance or unbalanced, using our example above there’s an excess of the qualities of mobile or hot  In this way we would see more mobility of thought, movement, and the GI tract as in diarrhea; excessive hot in the GI tract suggesting acid indigestion or heartburn, headache, or the painful flares of IC

What Three Things Can You Do Right Now With This Information?

1  Take this energy pattern test and thank God you can’t fail the test!

2 Choose the nutritional format best for your energy mindbody makeup- you’ll see that when you take the quiz

3 Make a deal with yourself that you’ll do one thing to change something that is not consistent with the nutritional format you choose
